The title , <e^ix, it’s necessary>, indicates the arbitrary point of the cycle, which was borrowed from Euler’s formula. Clear perception of a arbitrary point, e^ix, supply an attitude that distinguishes a signal from noise, and perhaps this might be the only way to distinguish between information and wisdom.

e^ix, it’s necessary 작품은 오디오-비주얼 라이브퍼포먼스 작품으로 ZKM의 커미션으로 제작되었다. GRAYCODE, jiiiiin 은 가상의 공간으로 모델 링한 THR 공명기를(THR Resonator : Helmholtz 공진기의 함수 공간과 다 변량 가우스 분포도 에 의해 구별되는 공명기로써, e^ix, it’s necessary 작품을 위해 GRAYCODE, jiiiiin에 의해 설계된 머신러닝 알고리듬) 통해 ‘1,683,963,344,932,416‘ 개의 데이터를 추출하였으며, 얻어진 데이터를 머신러닝의 알고리듬을 이용하여 데이터 클러스터링을 통한 사운드 디자인 및 작품의 설계를 진행 하였다. 오늘날의 세계는 수많은 정보들과 셀 수 없을 만큼 방대한 데이터들로 구성되어 있다. 이 작품에서 우리는 정보와 지혜, 잡음과 신호, 그 사이에 서서 질문한다. 우리의 삶 속에서 지혜를 찾을 수 있을까?
